The CLD635A is a USB Type-C active optical cable capable of handling DisplayPort Alt Mode signals. This allows your USB Type-C DisplayPort Alt-compatible source device to connect directly to a display device with a USB Type-C input connection. These slim cables support resolutions up to 4K @ 60Hz with a bandwidth of 21.6 Gbps. Due to its hybrid (fiber and copper) active optical cable, it provides superior performance in both speed and distance.

As the CLD635A is a hybrid optical (fiber and copper) active cable, it excels in both speed and distance. The cable requires no additional power supplies, and the compact construction with high-quality finishing and a low-smoke, halogen-free outer jacket makes it ideal for AV integration in permanent installations. Supported features include HDCP and EDID.

HDCP (High Definition Copy Protection) is designed to prevent illegal copying of digital media files. It ensures that the source and other devices are authorized and protected against illegal copying. HDCP is required for streaming services like Netflix, Blu-ray players, and receivers such as 4K TVs and 4K displays. The EDID emulator (Extended Display Identification Data) resolves video communication issues that may arise between your HDMI video source and display. EDID contains critical information that your TV or projector needs to deliver the best image quality, and it is easy to install.

In short, this means that digital audio and video content transmitted via DVI, DisplayPort, or HDMI connections is protected.
